Walking in Kingdom Favor, Part 2: Unearned Grace & Divine Placement

Walking in Kingdom Favor, Part 2: Unearned Grace & Divine Placement

Key Scriptures: Esther 2:15–17

Esther 2:15–17 (KJV)

Now when the turn of Esther, the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her for his daughter, was come to go in unto the king, she required nothing but what Hegai the king's chamberlain, the keeper of the women, appointed. And Esther obtained favour in the sight of all them that looked upon her. So Esther was taken unto king Ahasuerus into his house royal in the tenth month, which is the month Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign. And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she obtained grace and favour in his sight more than all the virgins; so that he set the royal crown upon her head, and made her queen instead of Vashti.

Esther 2:15–17 (NIV)

When the turn came for Esther (the young woman Mordecai had adopted, the daughter of his uncle Abihail) to go to the king, she asked for nothing other than what Hegai, the king’s eunuch who was in charge of the harem, suggested. And Esther won the favor of everyone who saw her. She was taken to King Xerxes in the royal residence in the tenth month, the month of Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign. Now the king was attracted to Esther more than to any of the other women, and she won his favor and approval more than any of the other virgins. So he set a royal crown on her head and made her queen instead of Vashti.

Esther 2:15–17 (ERV)

The time came for Esther to go in to see the king. Esther was the girl Mordecai had adopted. She was the daughter of Mordecai’s uncle Abihail. Esther needed to ask for nothing except what Hegai, the king’s eunuch in charge of the women, suggested. Everyone who saw Esther liked her. So Esther was taken to King Ahasuerus in the palace. This was in the tenth month, the month of Tebeth, in his seventh year as king. The king loved Esther more than any of the other women. She became his favorite. He liked her more than any of the other young women. So he put a royal crown on her head and made her queen in place of Vashti.

Reflection

Hey Gems & Jewels;

God places His children in strategic positions through His unmerited grace. Not by our merit, our striving, or our carefully laid plans, but by His sovereign hand and boundless mercy, He positions us exactly where He intends us to be. Like Esther, called "for such a time as this" (Esther 4:14), we are not where we are by accident. Every assignment, every open door, every unexpected opportunity is a gift of grace, an invitation to trust that the One who placed us here is faithful to equip and sustain us for the work He has prepared in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:10).

Esther was an orphan in a foreign land, holding no title, leverage, or worldly status. Yet when she was brought into the palace, something remarkable happened: she won the favor of everyone who saw her. When it was her time to present herself to the king, she did not rely on elaborate schemes or self-promotion. She walked in wisdom, listened to wise counsel, and allowed God's unearned grace to shine through her. God transformed her position from an unnoticed young woman into the queen of the realm.

Kingdom favor is not something you have to force, manipulate, or strive for in your own strength. It is the unmerited grace of God opening doors that our own effort could never unlock. When God positions you for divine placement, He does so not just for your own comfort, but to fulfill His purpose through you. You can rest your heart from the exhaustion of endless striving. Walk with quiet confidence today, knowing that the same God who positioned Esther is preparing your steps and placing His favor upon your life.

Life Skill Tip

Practice surrender over striving this week. Choose one door, project, or opportunity you have been trying to force open through anxiety or overworking. Take a step back, hand it over to God in prayer, and trust Him to direct the outcome.

Encouragement Reminder

Whether you or a loved one are currently navigating an unexpected health diagnosis, financial strain, a broken heart, mental health struggles, providing food for your family, the loss of a loved one, or any trial that comes with life’s sudden twists and turns, know that you do not have to fight these battles in your own strength. As you go about your daily routine, managing schedules, fulfilling commitments, and navigating life’s minor or major struggles, remember that God's grace is present to sustain you through every season.
