Trusting God in Seasons of Delay, Silence, and Uncertainty

NIV

“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

“But those who trust in the Lord will become strong again. They will be able to rise up like eagles. They will run and not become tired. They will walk and not grow weak.”

Reflection

Hey Gems and Jewels;

Waiting is one of the most misunderstood seasons in the faith journey. We often interpret waiting as inactivity, punishment, or delay, but in God’s Kingdom, waiting is a season of preparation. While it may look quiet on the outside, God is actively working beneath the surface.

In waiting seasons, God shifts our focus from outcomes to obedience. He teaches us how to trust without timelines, how to hope without guarantees, and how to remain faithful without visible progress. Waiting exposes what we truly rely on. It reveals whether our confidence is rooted in God’s presence or in answered prayers.

The discomfort of waiting often comes from our desire for control. We want clarity before movement, assurance before obedience, and answers before trust. But God uses waiting to strengthen spiritual endurance. Just as muscles grow under resistance, faith matures under patience.

Many people grow discouraged because they assume waiting means being overlooked. But Scripture shows us that waiting is where strength is renewed, not depleted. Waiting also protects us. God is not wasting your time. He is building endurance so that when the moment comes, you are able to carry the blessing without collapsing under its weight. There are blessings that would overwhelm us if they arrived before we were ready. There are doors that must remain closed until our character can sustain what is on the other side. God’s timing is not slow. It is precise.

If you are waiting today, it does not mean you are behind. It means God is carefully shaping you for what is ahead. Waiting is not wasted when it draws you closer to God, deepens your dependence on Him, and strengthens your ability to stand when the answer finally comes.

Life Skill Tip

The WAIT Method:

This is a simple four step practice you can return to anytime you feel weary in a season of waiting.

W: Write it down

Name what you are waiting on. Clarity reduces anxiety.

A: Acknowledge the strain

Identify the emotion this waiting is producing. Honesty heals.

I: Identify the growth

Ask what God may be strengthening in you during this season.

T: Take one faithful action

Choose one small step that keeps you engaged, grounded, and trusting while you wait.

End by reading Isaiah 40:31 aloud to reset your heart.

Declaration

I trust God in the waiting. My strength is being renewed, and nothing in my life is wasted.

What Is a Declaration

A declaration is a spoken alignment with God’s truth that anchors your heart during uncertainty. Declarations are not meant to rush outcomes. They are meant to stabilize your spirit while God is working behind the scenes.

When you declare truth in a waiting season, you resist discouragement, interrupt hopeless thinking, and remind your soul of what God has already promised. Declarations help you stand steady when circumstances feel delayed.

Prayer

Lord, help me trust You in this season of waiting. Renew my strength when I feel weary and remind me that You are always working, even when I cannot see it. Teach me patience without bitterness and faith without fear. I place my hope in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
