As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

You accepted Christ Jesus as Lord, so continue to live in him. You must depend on him only. Let your roots go down into him, and let your life be built on him. Be strong in the faith, just as you were taught. And always be thankful.

Spiritual growth is never accidental; it requires a deliberate decision to be rooted deep into the character of God rather than just having a surface level relationship with Him, or trying to lean to your own understanding. When we encounter challenging situations, our immediate instinct is often to scramble for quick answers, relying on our own strength and trying to force a solution. However, a plant that only has shallow roots is easily uprooted by the first strong wind. God calls us to a deeper level of stability. He desires for us to be firmly rooted and built up directly in Christ Jesus. This means that your primary source of nutrition, stability, and wisdom must come from a close relationship with the Lord.
When your life is rooted in Him, you begin to experience true spiritual maturity and clarity. You stop panicking when circumstances around you alter, because your foundation is anchored below the surface in His unshakeable sovereignty. Wisdom grows when you learn to wait on His timing, allowing His truth to strengthen you. This process of spiritual development produces a life that naturally overflows with genuine thankfulness, even before you see the final outcome of your situation. Choose to depend entirely on His infinite knowledge today, giving your faith the room to stretch, mature, and bear fruit under His sovereign care.
