We often feel that our weaknesses, physical tiredness, or imperfect moments make us ineffective for God’s kingdom. God deliberately places His extraordinary power inside fragile clay vessels. It is not in spite of our brokenness, but through it, that His strength shines most brightly. When we are emptied of our own striving, we become the clearest vessels for His glory, and the world sees not our ability, but His.
It is so easy to look at our daily lives and focus on our fragile edges. We feel the weight of physical fatigue, emotional vulnerability, and the everyday pressure of handling our responsibilities. We sometimes assume that to be useful to God, we must present a perfect, unshakeable exterior to the world. But the gospel turns that perspective upside down. God never asked you to be made of stone or steel. He purposefully chose to place His glorious, infinite treasure inside earthen vessels, plain jars of clay.
Your imperfections do not hinder God's power; they are the exact backdrop through which His light shines most clearly. When people see peace, kindness, resilience, and wisdom flowing out of your life despite the pressures you face, they are seeing the all-surpassing power of God at work within you. You do not have to hide your weakness or pretend to have every answer. Simply yield your clay jar into the hands of the Potter. As you stay open and humble before Him, His light will illuminate every crack, proving that the victory and glory belong entirely to the Lord.
