If you have ever looked at your own flaws, your past mistakes, or the struggles you are walking through right now, you know how easy it is to disqualify yourself from God's work. But here is what I have come to know: God does not choose us because we are perfect. He chooses us by His grace. He looks at our ordinary, imperfect lives and decides that we are exactly the kind of vessel He wants to carry His sacred name and purpose into the world.
The weight of feeling inadequate can quietly cloud everything; your confidence, your calling, even your prayers. We measure ourselves by our own standards, or the standards of the world, and those standards can be ruthless. But the Holy Word tells a different story. Scripture reminds us that even when others see a flawed past, God sees a chosen vessel, set apart for His glory. He does not see what we were. He sees what He has called us to become. That is not just comfort; that is the foundation we stand on.
God's selection is not based on your perfection, but on His divine purpose, and our willingness to be open to Him, and available to Him to carry out His purpose. Before Saul ever preached a single sermon, God called him a chosen instrument to bear His name. In the same way, the Lord has set you apart in this exact season to carry His light into your home, workplace, and community. You do not have to fit into someone else's mold. Step forward today with steady faith, knowing that the Lord has personally chosen your life as a vessel of honor to reflect His love, mercy, and power to the world.
