The Strength of the Small: Part 3; The Persistent Root

The Strength of the Small: Part 3; The Persistent Root

Scripture: Colossians 2:7

Colossians 2:7 (KJV)
Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

Colossians 2:7 (NIV)
Rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

Colossians 2:7 (ERV)
You must be rooted in him and build your lives on him. Learn more and more about the faith you were taught. And then you will be filled with many reasons to be thankful.

Reflection

Hey Gems & Jewels;

Listen, a mustard seed does not immediately shoot toward the sky. Its first act of obedience happens underground where no one can see it. It sends out a tiny, persistent root. This root is the lifeline. It anchors the plant against the wind and finds the water that will sustain it during a drought.

In our lives, we often want the "tree" phase of our ministry, our business, or our relationships before we have the "root" phase. We want the influence without the intimacy; without the relationship with God. However, the depth of your roots determines the height of your reach. If you grow too fast on the surface without a foundation in the Spirit, the first storm will knock you over.

The strength of the small is the quiet, daily habit of digging deep into the Word of God when no one is watching. It is the prayer in the closet and the worship in the car. These are the roots that establish you. Before the world sees your branches, God builds your roots.

The strength of the small is not found in how high it can reach, but in how deep it is willing to go. When you are rooted in Him, you don't have to worry about the weather of life because your source of strength is hidden in the Father.

Life Skill Tip

Practice Foundation First. Before you start any new project or enter a new season, spend more time in preparation than you do in execution. Research, pray, and plan behind the scenes. Building a strong foundation now prevents a costly collapse later.

Declarations

My roots are going deep into the love of Christ.
I am established and immovable in my faith.
I value my hidden growth as much as my public progress.
My foundation is built on the Rock that never shakes.

What is a Declaration

A declaration is a formal and confident statement of spiritual truth intended to align your spoken words with God’s promises, shifting your mindset and environment.

Prayer

Lord, teach me the value of the deep work. Help me to focus on being rooted in You rather than being noticed by others. I want a faith that can withstand the storms, so I choose to spend time in Your presence, letting Your Word anchor my soul. Thank You for strengthening me from the inside out. Amen.
