Key Scriptures: John 12:24
John 12:24 (KJV)
Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
John 12:24 (NIV)
Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.
John 12:24 (ERV)
The truth is, a grain of wheat must fall to the ground and die before it can grow and produce much more wheat. If it never dies, it will never be more than a single seed.

Reflection
There is a period in every "small start" where things seem to go dark. You have planted your seed; your dream, your business, your prayer, but instead of immediate growth, you experience a season of silence. This is the "Darkness of the Soil." It is the most critical stage of the mustard seed’s life.
In the dark, the seed has to undergo a painful transformation. Its hard outer shell must break open. This represents our ego, our comfort zones, and our reliance on our own strength. We often mistake this "breaking" for failure, but it is actually the release of the power God placed inside us. If the seed refuses to break, it stays a single, lonely seed. But if it yields to the pressure of the soil, it becomes a source of life for many.
Before a seed can become a tree, it must first be willing to be buried. The darkness of the soil is not a place of punishment; it is a place of preparation where the outer shell breaks so the inner life can emerge. To the world, being buried looks like the end. To the seed, it is the only way to begin. The strength of the small is found in the courage to "die" to who you were so you can become who God called you to be.

Life Skill Tip
Practice The Art of the Pivot. When you feel "buried" by a situation, stop asking "Why is this happening to me?" and start asking "What is breaking in me that needs to go?" Use this time of darkness to shed old habits or mindsets that cannot survive in your next season. Growth requires letting go of what used to protect you.
Declarations
I am not buried; I am planted.
I trust God in the dark seasons of my growth.
I yield to the process of being broken so I can be multiplied.
My current silence is the preparation for my future shout.
What is a Declaration
A declaration is a formal and confident statement of spiritual truth intended to align your spoken words with God’s promises, shifting your mindset and environment.

Prayer
Lord, help me to trust You when I cannot see the progress. I thank You for the work You are doing in the secret places of my heart. Give me the strength to let go of my old ways and the faith to believe that life is springing up even in the dark. I choose to stay planted, knowing that my harvest is secure in Your hands. In Jesus name. Amen.
Today’s Jewel: Chalcedony
What it represents: Chalcedony represents emotional balance, stamina, peace, comfort, and the ability to absorb negative energy and transform it into joy.
How it fits the message: It reminds us that we need spiritual stamina to survive the "buried" stage. The Word of God gives us peace, comfort, and calms our hearts while we wait in the darkness of the soil for our breakthrough.

This Chalcedony piece is part of the Amillion Treasures collection, created to reflect peace, comfort, and strength in seasons that feel hidden. Just like the seed in the soil, not every stage of growth is visible, but every stage is necessary.
If this visual speaks to you, let it be a reminder that even in the quiet and unseen moments, God is still working, still forming, and still bringing life from within.
It will be available in our shop beginning 3/23/26 for those who want to carry this reminder through every season.
