Hey Gems & Jewels;
The sixth flavor of the fruit of the Spirit is Goodness. Moving forward in our series, we shift from the outward expression of kindness to the internal foundation of “Goodness,” In the Kingdom, goodness is not just the absence of bad behavior; it is the presence of God’s nature manifested in our character. While kindness is how we act, goodness is who we are at our core. It is the integrity of the heart that chooses the right path, even when no one is watching.
To have the fruit of goodness means you are a person of value, reliability, and uprightness. You are a person who contributes positively to the lives of others because you are filled with the light of God. Goodness is the fruit that reflects God’s own heart. It is a moral excellence and a deep-seated desire to see the well-being of others, rooted in the integrity of the Spirit.
The strength of the small is found in the power of a good reputation; a reputation not built on what others think, but on what God knows. However, a crucial part of Kingdom goodness is the wisdom to know that not everyone has the capacity to appreciate or honor the goodness you offer. You can be a person of integrity and high moral standing without giving your "goodness" to those who are determined to be destructive.
Goodness includes the wisdom of discernment; sometimes, the "good" thing to do is to remove yourself from a person or environment that constantly seeks to exploit your integrity or treat your kindness as a weakness. Protecting your goodness is a way of honoring the life God has entrusted to you.
Life Skill Tip
Practice “Integrity-Checking.” Before you make a decision today, ask yourself: "Does this action align with the character of Christ?" If you feel pressured to compromise your values to please someone else or to keep the peace, remember that your ultimate goal is to be a person of goodness before God. If a relationship requires you to sacrifice your integrity or moral standard to satisfy the other person, that is a signal that you need to draw a firmer boundary.

Prayer

I want my life to be a safe and healthy space for Your Spirit to dwell. In Jesus name. Amen.
