Reflection

Hey Gems & Jewels;

When we talk about the Fruit of the Spirit, it is important to notice that the word "fruit" is singular. It is one fruit with many flavors. The very first one mentioned is Love. In the Kingdom, love is not just a feeling; it is the divine nature of God Himself.

When we allow the Holy Spirit to lead us, His love begins to flow through us like sap through a branch. The Fruit of the Spirit is not a list of things we do; it is the natural result of who we are when we stay connected to the Father. It all begins with Love; the soil from which every other good thing grows.

The strength of the small is found in the way we love in the "little" moments. It is easy to talk about love in a general sense, but the fruit is grown when we choose to love when it’s inconvenient, when we are tired, or when someone is difficult to deal with. Because you are a new creation, you have been given a supernatural capacity to love. You aren't trying to manufacture love in your own strength; you are simply abiding in the One who IS love. When the root is holy, the fruit will be sweet.

While we are called to love everyone, we are not called to be a doormat for everyone. To love someone does not require you to allow them to mistreat you; whether that is physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually, or financially. Real love has boundaries. Just as a gardener puts a fence around a precious harvest to keep out what would trample it, your love for others must include a healthy love and respect for the temple God has placed you in. You can forgive from a distance, and you can pray for someone without allowing their dysfunction to drain your resources or your peace.

Life Skill Tip

Practice The Love Audit. Throughout the day, ask yourself: "Is my reaction right now coming from a place of Love?" If you feel frustration or impatience rising, take a second to reconnect with the Father. Remind yourself that you are a conduit for His grace. Choosing a loving response in a small moment is how you tend to the garden of your heart.  At the same time, check your boundaries. If "loving" someone is currently costing you your mental or financial health, ask the Holy Spirit for the wisdom to adjust the access you give them.

Declarations

The love of God has been poured into my heart by the Holy Spirit.

I am a vessel of divine love and divine wisdom.

I choose to love others without sacrificing the peace God gave me.

My life is a reflection of the Father’s heart and His healthy boundaries.

What is a Declaration

A declaration is a formal and confident statement of spiritual truth intended to align your spoken words with God’s promises, shifting your mindset and environment.

Prayer

Father, I thank You for Your unconditional love for me. Thank You for planting the seed of Love in my heart. Help me to stay so closely connected to You that Your love naturally overflows into my words and my actions. Give me the discernment to know how to love others well while also protecting the garden of my own heart. I choose to love with my whole heart, but I also choose the wisdom to not allow others to mistreat the life You have given me. I am secure in Your care. In Jesus name. Amen.
