Day 5: Faith in the Fire; If Not, He’s Still Good

Day 5: Faith in the Fire; If Not, He’s Still Good

Scripture:

• KJV: “But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.” (Daniel 3:18)

• NIV: “But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.” (Daniel 3:18)

• NLT: “But even if he doesn’t, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up.” (Daniel 3:18)

Reflection:

Faith is not just believing God can deliver it’s trusting Him even if He doesn’t. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego declared that whether or not God saved them, they would not bow. This is radical trust. Sometimes prayers aren’t answered the way we want, yet our faith remains. True worship is not conditional; it’s built on the character of God, not on outcomes. When we rest in His goodness, our faith says, “Even if not, He is still worthy.”

Declaration:

“Even if my prayers are answered differently than I expect, my faith in God remains unshaken.”

Prayer:

Father, help me to trust You beyond outcomes. Teach me to worship You for who You are, not just for what You do. Amen.
