Nehemiah’s reaction to the broken walls was not just emotional; it was intentional. Before he approached the King for resources, he approached the King of Kings for a strategy. His prayer was not a grocery list of demands but a reminder of God’s covenant and character.
He acknowledged God’s greatness, confessed the sins of the people, and then made his specific request for favor. When we face a "wall" that needs rebuilding, our first instinct is often to work harder. However, the blueprint for success is found in the secret place of prayer.
A strategy without prayer is just a human effort, but a strategy born in prayer carries divine authority.
