Day 2: Breaking Strongholds; Pulling Down Lies

Day 2: Breaking Strongholds; Pulling Down Lies

📖 Scripture

John 8:32 (KJV)

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

John 8:32 (NIV)

“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

John 8:32 (ERV)

“You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”

Reflection

Yesterday you identified the thoughts, fears, and beliefs that have been shaping your inner world. Today, it’s time to pull them down.

A stronghold doesn’t break just because you recognize it. You have to replace the lie with truth. Every time you expose a lie, you create space for freedom.

Strongholds are built over time; by repeated agreement with untruth.

Freedom is built the same way; by repeated agreement with God’s Word.

The mind is a battleground. You can’t fight thoughts with feelings. You must fight them with truth. When the enemy whispers “You’ll never be enough,” the truth answers, “I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” When the thought says, “God has forgotten me,” the truth declares, “He will never leave nor forsake me.”

You can’t always control what thoughts appear, but you can decide which ones get to stay. This is how you pull down lies; not with force, but with faith.

💡 Life Skill Tip: Truth Rewriting Exercise

Take out your list from yesterday’s journaling. Next to each lie, write one scripture or truth that replaces it.

Example:

Lie: “I’m always behind.”

Truth: “The Lord makes everything beautiful in His time.” (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

Say it aloud until it feels more natural than the lie. Your words are the hammer that breaks the wall.

Declaration

I replace every lie with truth. God’s Word defines me. I pull down every thought that opposes His promises and align my mind with freedom.

📝 Definition of a Declaration

A Declaration is a faith statement you speak aloud to align your heart, mind, and actions with God’s truth. Say it boldly. Speak it daily. Let it rewrite your reality.

Prayer

Father, thank You for giving me the power to renew my mind. Reveal every lie I’ve believed and replace it with Your truth. Let Your Word wash over me until my thoughts align with Heaven. Help me to walk in freedom daily. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Lie: Happiness doesn’t exist without him TRUTH: “Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭13‬:‭4‬-‭7‬ ‭NLT‬‬
Lie: it’s going to take forever to rebuild my life TRUTH: “But if you pray to God and seek the favor of the Almighty, and if you are pure and live with integrity, he will surely rise up and restore your happy home.”
