REFLECTION
You know those moments when it feels like God can’t hear you or your prayers? The moments when something happens… or nothing happens at all, and you’re left stuck, wondering how or even why.
It’s easy to lose faith in those times. Easy to lose sight of God’s will when life brings things you never imagined, when it hurts physically, mentally, or spiritually. When it’s 3 AM and your thoughts won’t quiet down, and you find yourself asking: How could this happen? When will He answer me? When will my prayers come to light? You start wondering how long it takes for a prayer to be answered… or why some feel like they go unanswered at all.
But even in those moments, God is there.
Jesus is with you. He never leaves your side, no matter what you’ve done or what you’re going through. Even the things that don’t sit right with us in the moment can still be part of God’s work. What feels like silence isn’t absence, it’s often something we don’t understand yet.
God knows what’s best, even when we don’t see it. And no matter how it feels, He will never forsake us.
The Story of Job
Job was a man who loved God and lived righteously. He had a good life; he had a family, wealth, and good health. One day, everything was taken from him.
He lost his family; he lost his valuables and his good health. In that moment of Job’s life, it felt as if God was not there.
Just like many of us, Job couldn’t understand why any of this was happening to him. He questioned what he had done, why, and how. He grieved. He sat in that pain, physically, mentally, and spiritually, just like what we feel in those not so good moments of our lives.
At one point, Job says:
“Oh that I knew where I might find him!” Job 23:3
Same as when we wonder, how is this happening right now? Or how did God allow something to happen that hurts so bad, and we expect immediate relief or certain changes to come.
But even through it all, Job still held on:
“Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him…” Job 13:15
As should we. Let’s remind each other and ourselves that we must continue to trust Him, continue to praise Him through our sorrow, and never lose sight of our faith.
A grounded way to live this out is to separate what you can control from what you can’t, then act on the part you can.

LIFE SKILL TIP
In moments where you feel unheard, stuck, or unsure of what to do next, focus on this simple practice: pray, then take one step.
Start by being honest with God. Your prayer doesn’t have to be perfect, it can be as simple as, “I don’t understand this,” or “I need help.” God hears even the prayers that don’t have all the right words.
Then shift your focus to what is in your control. Instead of trying to figure everything out at once, choose one small step you can take today. It doesn’t have to be big or life changing; it can be something that moves you forward.
That step might be:
Getting up and starting your day
Making a phone call to someone you love
Forgiving someone or forgiving yourself
Just handling one small task in front of you
Faith doesn’t mean you’ll always have clarity. It means you keep moving forward, even when you don’t have all the answers, even when things are unclear. You don’t need to see the whole path. You just need the strength to take the next step.
DECLARATIONS
I declare that even in moments of silence, God is with me.
I will not let doubt overtake my faith, even when I don’t understand what I’m going through.
I trust that God hears every prayer I pray, spoken and unspoken.
Even when I don’t see immediate answers, I believe He is working on my behalf.
I declare that I will not be moved by how I feel but grounded in what I know:
that God will never leave me nor forsake me.
I will continue to trust Him in the waiting.
I will continue to praise Him in the uncertainty.
I will continue to move forward, one step at a time.
Even in the silence… I still believe.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father,
In this time of uncertainty and sorrow, I ask that You help me to feel Your presence. Remind me, Lord, that You have not forsaken me, even when it feels like You are distant.
Comfort my heart when things become overwhelming. Strengthen me when I feel weak, and give me peace in moments of confusion. When the days feel heavy, I ask that You give me something to look forward to, something that reminds me that this season will not last forever.
Father, help me to remember that nothing I face is beyond Your control. Even in the pain, You are working. I ask that You give me the greatest power I could have, faith and hope. Strengthen my trust in You, even when I don’t understand what You are doing. Help me to keep going, to keep believing, and to keep holding on to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

How it fits the message: The Chalcedony jewel is used today to remind you of who you are and whose you are, and to encourage you to remember the "Answers to Prayer" that belong to you. When we feel like Job searching for where God might be; the Chalcedony jewel stands as a physical promise that God is a listener. This serves as a reminder that even when the answer hasn't manifested in your sight yet, it has been released in the Spirit. You are empowered by the Lord to wait with expectation, anchored in the truth that every prayer you’ve sown is being tended to by the Father.

Question
Have you ever experienced a "Job moment" where it felt like God was silent, only to see later how He was working behind the scenes? What is one "small step" you can take today to show God you still trust Him in the waiting? Share your thoughts in our comments below or write them in your journal.

I’ve had moments like Job, where I’ve questioned where God is or whether He hears my prayers. But I’m learning that even when things aren’t going my way or the way I expected God is still working on my behalf.
One of the most important lessons I’m learning is that God’s timing is perfect. We often think we know what’s best or when things should happen, but God sees everything. He knows exactly when to answer prayers in a way that truly matters and leaves a lasting impact.
So now, when I find myself waiting, I’m choosing encouragement over discouragement. I trust that in the waiting, God’s plan is better than anything I could have arranged on my own.
One small step I’m taking today to show that trust is letting go of the need to control outcomes. I’m giving what I can’t control to God and focusing on what I can. It feels lighter that way less heavy when I allow God to work on my behalf.
One step at a time.
