📖 Series 2: Day 1; Wisdom that Builds:Lessons from Proverbs; Day 1:The Beginning of Wisdom

Scripture:

  • KJV: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” (Proverbs 1:7)
  • NIV: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” (Proverbs 1:7)
  • ERV: “Knowledge begins with fear and respect for the Lord, but stubborn fools hate wisdom and refuse to learn.” (Proverbs 1:7)

Reflection:

True wisdom does not start with books, titles, or experiences; it begins with reverence for God. The fear of the Lord means living with deep respect, awe, and trust in His ways above our own. When we start here, every decision we make flows from alignment with His truth. Fools may mock wisdom or resist instruction, but those who honor God find knowledge that guides, protects, and prospers their lives.

Declaration:

My wisdom begins with reverence for God. I will not despise instruction but will embrace wisdom as my guide.

Definition of Declaration:

A declaration is a bold, spoken statement of faith aligned with God’s Word. Speaking it aloud plants truth in your heart and strengthens your spirit.

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for being the source of all wisdom. Teach me to revere You above all else and to welcome instruction that helps me grow in faith and character. Amen.
